Purcellville Volunteer Rescue Squad Recruitment Video

 IDEA

The idea I have in mind is to take 3 dedicated characters (AIC, Driver, and the Gator) through the process of training from red shirt to blue shirt to being apart of the family at PVRS to then going on calls. Ive done so in 3 segments below. In addition to the B-roll focused video I would love to get interviews with a few of the EMT’s to get their “why’s” and their stories. Testimonials to why they love volunteering. The idea here is to possibly make a longer form branding video. During a ride along, if possible, documentary style filming day to day would benefit the longer form video as well. Everything below is a brief description of what I imagine what this would look like and a few snapshots of shot ideas I have for each segment.

  • under 120 seconds (2 minutes)

  • B-roll focused. Energetic, happy, welcoming

  • Logos

  • graphics

  • pictures/video

  • text

  • Exiting transitions

  • powerful, exiting, engaging music

Segment 1: Training

  • Red shirt in training

  • classes. Taking notes, training in CPR, collaberating with other red shirts

  • passing the certificates getting a blue shirt

  • high fiving/hand shaking celebrating that achievment

Segment 2 : Collaboration

  • Cooking together, cleaning, checking the trucks, playing games

  • Handing paperwork to admin

  • General collaboration with anyone in the station

Segment 3: Action Shots of going onto calls focusing on our 3 characters

  • Call goes off; dump house

  • Hero shots of AIC,

  • Hero shots of Driver

  • Hero shots of the gator (two people posed with gator)

  • action shots of AIC giving treatment to patient after extrication

  • action shots of Driving getting out of the driver side of the Ambulance grabs a bag then goes to assist AIC

  • Action shots of Gator driving to the scene AIC and driver assist in giving treatment.

  • call to action graphics with logo to end the video

Cost and Schedule Breakdown

2 days for filming and 2 days of editing. (quick note the ride along would be a no cost 3rd day) First day of filming would be the interviews to get some stories and B-roll of training and collaboration. The second day would be the calls. 3 locations. Possibly training center for the extrication, out behind on the W&OD trail for the Gator and TBD for the Driver. For editing I would edit fully to what I see fit and send to you for an initial look. Then starts the 3 revision process. Turn around time would be a week to 2 weeks depending on revisions. Cost break down is:

Day rate: $2000 ($4000)

Editing Day Rate: $1200 ($2400)

Total: $6400

Discount for Volunteer service 25% to bring the total to $4800.
